Human Resources Strategy for Researchers (HRS4R)

IDIAPJGol has obtained the Human Resources Excellence in Research Award (HRS4R) 

The EURAXESS Human Resources Strategy for Researchers (HRS4R) was born in 2008 to support the implementation of the Charter and the Code within the practices and policies of research institutions. The attribute HR Excellence in Research identifies the institutions that promote a stimulating working environment and fair working conditions.

In March 2017, the IDIAPJGol signed a letter of commitment to the Charter and the Code with the objective to implement as closely as feasible their policies and practices.

In May 2017, the IDIAPJGol obtained the endorsement of the principles of Charter and Code to start its own HRS4R implementation strategy.

During 2017, a working group was set up within the IDIAPJGol to carry out an internal analysis. Taskforce members met with professionals of the Governance Team, Management and researchers of all areas. The results of the taskforce translated into the IDIAPJGol HR Strategy and Action Plan. In March 2017, the IDIAPJGol launched the implementation of its own HRS4R with the aim to be recognised as a European research institute that fosters a stimulating working environment for research activities.

To help the research institutions operate under the principles of the Charter and Code, the Commission established a procedure to design a Human Resources Strategy.

 

In June, 2018, after the evaluation of the Plan of Human Resources launched for the IDIAPJGol, the European Commission has granted the Human Resources Excellence in Research Award (HRS4R) to our Institute, a seal of quality that recognizes the aptitude to attract talent, generating a favorable work environment, encouraging the research and promoting the career of the researchers in the European frame. 

 

The HRS4R consists of five main steps:

  • Step 1: Internal Analysis IDIAPJGol Gap Analysis
  • Step 2: Institutional strategy of human resources for researchers IDIAPJGol HR Strategy and action Plan.
  • Step 3: Acknowledgement of the human resources strategy for researchers of the European Commission, as identified by the "Excellence in R + D " logo.
  • Step 4: Implementation and self-evaluation after 2 years.
  • Step 5: External evaluation after 4 years and renovation of recognition.
